Novak Đoković nastavlja planiranim tempom na Australijan openu – srpski teniser se deveti put uzastopno plasirao u osminu finala u Melburnu, pošto je danas, u 3.kolu, porazio Španca Fernanda Verdaska sa 7:6 (10-8), 6:3, 6:4.
U 11. međusobnom duelu, Đoković je protiv Verdaska slavio sedmi put.
Đoković će u osmini finala igrati protiv Žila Milera iz Luksemburga koji je iznenadio Džonda Iznera sa 3:0, 7:6 (7-4), 7:6 (8-6), 6:4.
