Mjesec mart ove godine bio je najtopliji u posljednjih 136 godina, a prosječne temperature skočile su širom svijeta za 1,28 stepeni, saopštio je NASA svemirski centar Godar u Merilendu.
U martu 2010. godine zabilježen je porast prosječnih temperatura širom svijeta za 0,92 stepena, prenosi Beta.
Porast temperatura posebno je izražen na ekstremnim sjevernim geografskim širinama, regionu koji je najosjetljiviji na toplotu.
Skok temperature na 7 stepeni iznad prosjeka znači intenzivnije topljenje leda, dužu sezonu topljenja, nestanak tankog leda, a ono što najviše zabrinjava je ulivanje milijardi tona vode u slane okeane, što će poremetiti sposobnost kretanja toplih struja.
NASA upozorava da su oktobar, novembar, decembar, januar, februar i mart srušili rekorde u globalnim temperaturama, kao i da se taj trend nastavlja.
