Rodžer Federer je priznao da zbog povratka nekoliko tenisera koji su zbog povreda preskočili veći dio prethodne sezone neće u 2018. godini moći da bude uspješan kao u ovoj.
Švajcarac je osvojio sedam trofeja, od kojih su i dva sa Gren slem turnira u 2017. godini.
“U sljedećoj godini neću moći da doživim iste emocije kao u ovoj. Možda neću biti uspješan, ali sam često znao da iznenadim sebe. Povratak Đokovića, Mareja, Vavrinke, Raonića i Nišikorija značiće vjerovatno i manje titula za mene”, iskreno je poručio Federer.
Legendarni teniser rekao je da će igrati samo na onim turnirima na kojima bude osjećao da može da pruži maksimum.
“Igraću na Australian openu, Vimbldonu i US openu. Nastup na ostalim turnirima zavisiće od toga koliko bude spreman. Cilj je da igram još nekoliko godina, ali ne i deceniju”, dodao je Rodžer.
Federer će 2018. godinu početi na drugom mjestu ATP liste, iza Rafaela Nadala.
