Komandir sirijske narodne milicije grada Skalbija, Nabil Abdulah namjerava da u svom gradu napravi kapelu koja će nositi simbolično ime – Aja Sofija.

Prema riječima komandanta hrišćanske narodne milicije, kapelu će sa istambulskom Aja Sofijom povezivati samo ime.
