Kvalifikacije za OI i definitivno u Beogradu
Beograd će i definitivno biti domaćin jednog od kvalifikacionih turnira za Olimpijske igre u košarci.
Generalni sekretar FIBA Patrik Bauman potvrdio je da će se kvalifikacioni turnir održati u Beogradu od 4. do 9. jula 2016. godine.
Još je u januaru Srbija dobila organizaciju jednog od kvalifikacionih turnira, ali se spekulisalo da će FIBA promijeniti odluku.
Ipak, Srbija će na svom terenu pokušati da izbori plasman na Olimpijske igre, a biće favorit na tom kvalifikacionom turniru. Pobjednik turnira obezbijediće plasman na OI u Rio de Žaneiru, koje su na programu od 5. do 21. avgusta.
