Amfilohije kod papa Franja
Očigledno je da je papa uslišio tu želju, ali ni od jednog aktera tog sastanka juče nismo mogli da dobijemo izjavu. Nije nam se javljao ni patrijarh srpski kako bismo saznali šta su konkretno razgovarali.
– U SPC skoro niko nije znao da se priprema sastanak u Vatikanu. Samo patrijarh Irinej i najbliži njegovi saradnici upućeni su u sve to.
Pretpostavlja se da se govorilo o tome zašto ne treba kanonizovati zagrebačkog kardinala i nadbiskupa Alojzija Stepinca, koji je bio jedna od vodećih ličnosti u Nezavisnoj Državi Hrvatskoj i koji tada ništa nije učinio da zaštiti srpski narod, već je podržavao nacistički ustaški režim. Jedna od tema bila je i moguća poseta pape Franje Srbiji, a vjerovatno se govorilo i o Kosmetu, statusu tamošnjih Srba i srpskih svetinja – priča izvor Kurira u SPC.
Vjerski analitičar Draško Đenović ocenjuje da je dobro što je došlo do ovog susreta.
– Stepinac je jedno od gorućih pitanja u odnosima između Svete stolice i srpske patrijaršije i normalno je što je to bila jedna od tema. Pretpostavljam da su predstavnici SPC odneli dokumenta kojim bi potvrdili svoj stav zašto Stepinac ne bi trebalo da bude proglašen za sveca – kaže Đenović i dodaje:
