Ko je Admiral Barović: Odlučio da sebi oduzme život umjesto da izvrši bombardovanje hrvatskih gradova
Povodom 30 godina od smrti admirala Vladimira Barovića oglasio se i Centar za građansko obrazovanje CGO.
Oni podsjećaju da je Admiral Barović je 29. 09. 1991, na Visu, na dan kada je postao drugi čovjek jugoslavenske mornarice, odlučio da sebi oduzme život umjesto da izvrši naredbu da bombarduje hrvatske gradove s mora. Nažalost, dodaju ovaj čovjek i njegov čin su zaboravljeni u našoj javnosti.
“Danas je 30 godina od smrti CG kontraadmirala u YU ratnoj mornarici i zamjenika zapovjednika Vojno-pomorske oblasti u Splitu, Vladimira Barovića”, napisali su na svom Tviter nalogu, dodajući da CGO odaje počast čovjeku koji je pokazao što je čojstvo i ostao svijetla tačka u dijelu mračne savremene istorije regiona.
Iz CGO su pozvali Vladu, Skupštinu Crne Gore i druge relevantne subjekte da ukažu na važnost sjećanja na admirala Barovića, i na promociju te univerzalne priče o časti, dignitetu i humanosti u vremenu nacionalizma i razaranja.
“Kultura sjećanja je i jedan od stubova održivog mira i suživota na prostoru bivše Jugoslavije, a njen integralni dio su ljudi poput admirala Barovića, tim prije što su tako rijetki”, poručili su iz Centra za građansko obrazovanje.
