Fejsbuk mijenja ime već od naredne sedmice?
Fejsbuk planira sledeće sedmice da promijeni ime kompanije, tvrdi tehnološki blog The Verge.
Mark Zakerberg navodno će otkriti planove o promjeni imena na godišnjoj konferenciji kompanije “Connect” koja će se održati 28. oktobra, ali novo ime bi moglo biti otkriveno i ranije.
Iz kompanije su na ovu vijest poručili da ne žele komentarisati glasine niti spekulacije.
Mark Zakerberg je ovoga ljeta najavio kako njegova kompanija želi u narednih pet godina iz društvene mreže prerasti u kompaniju “metaversea”. Ovaj pojam opisao je kao “virtuelni svijet”, koji će se nadograditi na sve što do sada poznajemo pod pojmom virtuelne stvarnosti i koji će biti zapravo nova računarska i komunikacijska platforma. Drugo pojašnjenje kaže kako je to nova faza u međusobnom povezivanju virtuelnih iskustava korišćenjem tehnologija virtuelne i proširene stvarnosti.
Da misle ozbiljno i predano raditi na ovom projektu i u njega mnogo uložiti, potvrđeno je i ove nedelje, kada je službeno najavljeno da će se metaverse primarno razvijati u Evropskoj uniji. Plan Fejsbuka je na području EU zaposliti deset hiljada stručnjaka u narednih pet godina. Osim ambicioznih planova za ovaj projekt, Fejsbuk želi ovim potezom poručiti i kako vjeruju u snagu evropske tehnološke industrije i u potencijal evropskih talenata na tom području.
Vijest dolazi u turbulentnim trenucima za kompaniju. Naime, prije nekoliko dana dogodio se veliki pad društvenih mreža Fejsbuk, Instagram i Vocap koji je trajao šest sati, zbog kojeg je kompanija je izgubila malo više od tri miliona dolara prihoda od oglašavanja u SAD-u, svojem primarnom tržištu.
Takođe, Fejsbuk je nedavno pristao platiti 14.24 miliona dolara kako bi zaustavio sudski progon američkih vlasti koje ga optužuju da je neka dobro plaćena radna mjesta namijenio stranim državljanima, na štetu američkih građana i stanovnika sa stalnom dozvolom boravka (zelenom kartom). Američko ministarstvo pravosuđa podiglo je tužbu krajem 2020. ocijenivši da je društvena mreža namjerno izgradila sistem zapošljavanja koji sprečava kvalifikovane Amerikance da saznaju za neka radna mjesta i da se nadmeću, primjera radi tako što ne prihvataju internet kandidature.
