Naučnici šest prestižnih američkih univerziteta napravili su studiju u vezi veličine stopala i dužine života.
Oni su tokom dvije godine prikupljali i obradili podatke za 3.400 umrlih muškaraca i žena i otkrili jaku vezu između starosti pacijenata koji su umirali u bolnicama i veličine njihovih stopala.
Džim Hojdž sa Kembridža kaže da “veličina tijela pacijenta nije čvrsto povezana sa dugovječnošću, već samo veličina stopala”.
Naučnici još ne znaju uzrok ove pojave, ali su napravili tabelu veličine stopala i očekivane dužine života za muškarce i žene. Ona se ne može primijeniti na djecu jer njihova stopala još uvijek rastu.
