Treneru Arsenala ove sezone ne cvjetaju ruže na Hajberiju.
I najzagriženiji navijači su mu okrenuli leđa kada je postalo jasno da “topdžije” neće osvojiti titulu u Premijer ligi, koju čekaju od 2004.
67-godišnjem Francuzu, koji je u Arsenalu od 1996, na ljeto ističe ugovor, a ostrvski mediji smatraju da mu uprava kluba neće ponuditi novi.
I pored toga, Venger je odbio da postane najplaćeniji fudbalski trener u istoriji.
Nekoliko britanskih dnevnih novina objavilo je danas da je Francuz rekao “ne” basnoslovnoj ponudi iz Kine, vrijednoj 30 miliona funti (35 miliona eura) po sezoni.
To je dvostruko više od onoga što Pep Gvardiola zarađuje u Mančester sitiju, a skoro četiri puta više od plate u Arsenalu (8 miliona funti).
Iako mu je Budućnost na klupi “topdžija” nesigurna, Venger je nekoliko puta podvukao da neće otići u penziju na ljeto.
Očigledno je da mu novac nije prvi na listi prioriteta, i da želi da i dalje bude dio evropskog krema.
Očekivano od trenera koji je osvojio 19 pehara, a već imao priliku da se oproba na tlu Azije – u sezoni 1995-1996, Venger je vodio japansku Nagoju.
