Članice Američko-jadranske povelje o bezbjednosnim izazovima na Zapadnom Balkanu

Generalni direktor Direktorata za politiku odbrane, general major Rajko Pešić, učestvovao je danas na sastanku političkih direktora ministarstava odbrane država članica i posmatrača Američko-jadranske povelje (A-5), koji je održan u Zagrebu.

Ovo je, kako navode, prvi sastanak koji se ne održava u onlajn formatu, u okviru A-5 inicijative, od kako je proglašena pandemija Kovid-19.

Na sastanku je razgovarano o bezbjednosnim izazovima na Zapadnom Balkanu, sa posebnim fokusom na budućnost regiona u pogledu evroatlantskih integracija, te buduće perspektive zajedničkog učešća zemalja A-5 u medjunarodim misijama i operacijama.

General Pešić je istakao da je Američko-jadranska povelja A-5 dokazan mehanizam kanalisanja evroatlantskih aspiracija regiona Zapadnog Balkana, te snažan instrument jačanja regionalne bezbjednosne saradnje i međusobnog povjerenja. Imajući u vidu aktuelne bezbjednosne izazove, od kojih su mnogi izazvani pandemijom Kovid-19, Pešić je ukazao na neophodnost jače regionalne saradnje i zajedničkog djelovanja u borbi protiv bezbjednosnih izazova.

Tokom sastanka definisane su teme za predstojeći sastanak ministara odbrane A-5, koji će se održati u novembru ove godine.
