DANAS SLAVIMO SVETOG MIRONA: Vjeruje se da svako ko je u nevolji treba da izgovori kratku molitvu i muke će nestati

Pravoslavna crkva i vjernici 30. avgusta slave dan sjećanja na Svetog mučenika Mirona, sveštenika koji je zbog svoje privrženosti Hristu strašno stradao.

Sveti mučenik Miron bio je sveštenik u nekom mjestu u Ahaji u 3. vijeku. Poticao je iz bogate i ugledne porodice i predanje kaže da je bio blag i krotak čovjek koga su vjernici voljeli, a čak i neznabošci poštovali.

Međutim, u vrijeme cara Dekija nastupi veliki progon hrišćana. Na sam Božić, vojska je upala u crkvu u kojoj je Miron služio liturgiju, izvela sveštenika na očigled svetinje i počela da ga muči zahtijevajući da se odrekne svoje vjere.

Mučenje ovog svetitelja je bilo strašno – prvo su ga spaljivali – legenda kaže da ga je od vatre spasao anđeo koji mu se javio i zaštitio ga, a onda su krenuli da mu deru kožu, dio po dio.

Mučeni Miron, bez obzira na to što je trpio strašne bolove, nije poklekao i čak je u jednom trenutku dograbio komad sopstvene kože i njime udario rimskog sudiju u lice. Miron je nakon toga odveden u grad Kizik i tamo posječen. Ipak, narod nije zaboravio dobrotu i blagost Svetog Mirona.

I danas mu se mole, a on važi za zaštitnika krotkih i nevinih ljudi koji nikome nisu učinili nikakvo zlo. Vjeruje se da će im ovaj svetitelj priteći u pomoć i spasti ih svake nevolje ako u crkvi zapale svijeću i pomole mu se.

“Mučenik Tvoj Gospode, Miron, u stradanju svome je primio nepropadljivi vijenac, od Tebe Boga našega, jer imajući pomoć Tvoju mučitelje pobjedi, a razori i nemoćnu drskost demona: Njegovim molitvama spasi duše naše.”
