Prva stranica za online dating u svijetu Match.com pojavila se još davne 1995. godine, popularni Tinder lansiran je 2012. godine, a postoji podatak da je danas svaki treći brak počeo upoznavanjem online.
I Fejsbuk od prošle nedjelje ima svoju “udvaračku” opciju.
Naime, lansirana je nova usluga nazvana “Facebook Dating”, koja je predstavljena prošle godine na Facebook F8 konferenciji. Od tada je testirala u Kolumbiji, a od prošle nedjelje je dostupna u SAD-u i još 19 zemalja. U Europi pak “ljubav preko fejsa” možemo tražiti tek od početka 2020. godine.
Facebook Dating je opcija koja će zapravo stvoriti novu mrežu unutar Facebooka, to jest svi koji odluče da pronađu “onog pravog” preko novootvorene usluge na Fejsbuku imaće zaseban profil, što znači da se njihove aktivnosti neće pojaviti na stranama njihovih prijatelja s regularnog profila.
Sve aktivnosti ostaju u Facebook Dating tabu i neće biti podeljene s ostatkom društvene mreže. Jedino ako odaberete svoje “tajne simpatije” (Secret Crush opcija) među svojim prijateljima. Ako je neko od tih prijatelja napravio isto i tajne se simpatije poklope, stiže im notifikacija.
