Opštinski odbori Hrvatske građanske inicijative u Tivtu i Kotoru predlažu da se jedna ulica u Tivtu ili Kotoru dobije ime po admiralu Vladimiru Baroviću.
Kako navode u saopštenju i nakon trideset godina od ratnih zbivanja u regionu sasvim je izgledno da je, kako kažu u HGI, kod značajnog dijela naših građana nacionalizam i dalje vladajuća ideologija.
“Mlade generacije rođene nakon rata odgajaju se na negiranju i relativiziranju zločina. Dobar dio mladih vjeruje u ono u što želi da vjeruje te tako štiti svoj osobni osjećaj pripadnosti. Svjesni smo da je prevladavanje prošlosti dugotrajan proces. Našem društvu potrebna je kritička povijest a ne povijest prilagođena potrebama političkih elita”, poručuju iz HGI-a.
Posljedice današnje politike su, kako kažu, da je i pored tridesetogodišnje vremenske distance od rata pred nama nesigurna budućnost.
“U vremenima ratnih zbivanja kada je došlo do poremećaja sistema vrijednosti, gubljenja vrlina čovječnosti te glasa savjesti, imamo svijetli primjer osobnog izbora admirala Jugoslavenske ratne mornarice, Vladimira Barovića. Kao visoki časnik JRM raspoređen u vojnopomorskom uporištu Vis izabrao je samoubojstvo umjesto izdavanja zapovijedi floti za bombardiranje gradova i naselja u Dalmaciji. Njegova moralna odgovornost i osobna savjest nisu mu dozvolile izdavanje zapovijedi koje bi uzrokovalo stradanje brojnih civila i ogromne materijalne štete. Svojim individualnim izborom dokazao je da posjeduje crnogorsko shvatanje časti”, navode u HGI-u.
Kažu da takav svijetli primjer iz vremena ratnih zbivanja treba da znaju mlade generacije.
