Uz prisustvo sportista i sportskih zvaničnika održana je svečana ceremonija.
Prisutnima se obratila gradonačelnica Tokija, a gradonačelnici Pariza predata je Olimpijska zastava.
Tomas Bah, predsjednik MOK-a, zahvalio se svima koji su pomogli da Igre proteknu u najboljem redu i poželio sreću organizatorima narednih Igara u parizu 2024. godine
