Predsjednik Opštine Budva Marko Carević predložio je režisera Emira Kusturicu za počasnog građanina Budve.
Predlog odluke o proglašenju Emira Kusturice, kako je imenovan u tom dokumentu, za počasnog građanina, naći će se u ponedeljak na dnevnom redu sjednice lokalnog parlamenta, čije je održavanje neizvijesno, prenose Vijesti.
Ako odbornici opozicije iz redova Demokratske partije socijalista ne budu dali kvorum skupštinskom Odboru za statut i propise, sjednica neće moći da bude održana.
Emir Kusturica je režiser, scenarista, pisac, osnivač i direktor filmskog i muzičkog festivala Kustendorf, dvostruki je dobitnik Zlatne palme, filmskog festivala u Kanu. Nagrađen je Zlatnim lavom na festivalu u Veneciji… Nosilac je Odrden viteza rada, umjetnosti i književnosti, ambasador UNICEF-a u Srbiji od 2007, piše u obrazloženju odluke.
Kako se navodi, Kusturica je uložio velike napore da podrži kandidaturu Budve i opština Boke za projekat Evropska prijestonica kulture.
Kusturica kao izuzetan umjetnik i svestrana ličnost zaslužuje da se nađe na listi počasnih građana Budve, i kao takav doprinese izgradnji kulturne scene našeg grada i sveukupne promocije Budve, piše u obrazloženju Carevićevog predloga.
