EU potpisuje ugovor sa Modernom o kupovini vakcina protiv korone
Predsjednica Evropske komisije Ursula fon der Lejen najavila je potpisivanje ugovora sa američkom kompanijom Moderna o obezbijeđivanju do 160 miliona doza vakcine protiv kovid-19, što je šesti ugovor koji je EU zaključila sa nekom farmaceutskom laboratorijom.
“Srećna sam što mogu da najavim da ćemo sjutra odobriti novi ugovor kojim ćemo obezbijediti još jednu vakcinu protiv kovid-19”, rekla je predsjednica EK i pomenula da će biti potpisan ugovor sa još jednom laboratorijom, ne pružajući više detalja.
Evropska komisija je do sada potpisala pet ugovora za vakcine uključujući švedsko-britansku AstraZeneka i američku Džonson & Džonson (do 400 miliona doza od svake), francusko-britansku Sanofi-GSK (do 300 miliona doza), američko-njemački dvojac Fajzer-Biontek (do 300 miliona doza) i na kraju njemačku KureVak (do 405 miliona doza).
Predsjednica EK je rekla da će Evropljanima biti obezbijeđen pristup vakcinama koje najviše obećavaju.
Isporuka tih vakcina će uslijediti tek kada one budu odobrene kao bezbjedne i efikasne.
Evropska unija je najavila da će početkom 2021. biti dostupne prve doze vakcina protiv koronavirusa.
