NA KORAK OD ISTORIJE: Đoković u finalu US Opena
Najbolji svjetski i srpski teniser Novak Đoković izborio je novo finale Ju-Es opena, on je u polufinalu savladao Aleksandra Zvereva rezultatom 3:2 u setovima (4:6, 6:2, 6:4, 4:6, 6:2).
Viđena je odlična igra tokom cijelog meča. Obojica su igrali odličan tenis, ali je Srbin bio za klasu bolji od rivala. Činilo se ponekad da je Nemac igrao iznad svojih mogućnosti, ali na mahove ni to nije bilo dovoljno da zaustavi Srbina.
Odlično je počeo meč na „Artur Eš“ stadionu. Smjenjivali su se teniseri u vođstvu i čuvali svoj servis sve do devetog gema kadaa je Zverev došao do brejk lopte, a potom uzima gem na servis Srbina duplom servis greškom Đokovića. Potom je u 10. gemu rutinski odservirao za 1:0 u setovima.
Sušta suprotnost viđena je u drugom setu koji je bez mnogo problema dobio Đoković. Nije najboljeg tenisera pokoolebao epilog iz prvog seta. U drugom gemu dolazi do brejka i to na isti način kao što je to učinio Njemac – duplom servis greškom rivala, prenose Novosti.
U osmom gemu Đoković je još jednom napravio brejk i drugi set dobio 6:2. U trećem setu nije bilo odstupanja, čuvali su teniseri svoj servis. Obojica su igrali odlično, a publika je često pozdravljala poteze aktera ovacijama, tako je bilo i u sedmom gemu koji je Đoković dobio nakon fantastične razmjene. Teško je Zverevu bilo da čita poteze Đokovića koji je često usred poena znao da promijeni ritam i lopticu pošalje u sasvim drugu stranu. Donijelo je to tri set lopte Đokoviću u trećem setu. Prvu je odbranio Njemac. Spasao je Zverev i drugu, a to je učinio nakon nevjerovatnih 53 udaraca. Treću je Nole iskoristio i došao do potpunog preokreta!
Na početku četvrtog seta ponovo je viđen egal. Držali su svoj servis na početku seta obojica. Zverev igra preko granica svojih mogućnosti, igra koju pruža bila bi mu dovoljna za bilo kog drugog tenisera, ali ne i za Novaka koji igra za klasu bolje.
Ipak, nakon maratonskog trećeg gema Zverev probija bedem Đokovića i koristi osmu brejk loptu u meču da dođe do drugog brejka. U narednom gemu potvrdio je Zverev brejk, a potom je dodatno osokoljen i potvrdio brejk. U nastavku smo vidjeli lavovsku borbu, a u desetom setu servirao je za set Zverev. Čuvao je njemački teniser osvojeni brejk do kraja seta i rezultatom 4:6 meč uveo u peti set! Već u drugom gemu petog seta Đoković dolazi do brejk lopte. Nakon 30 udaraca iskoristio je Đoković priliku da dođe do prednosti u petom setu. Novak je nakon brejka zaigrao dosta samouvereno, potvrdio je brejk, a potom napravio još jedan za 4:0. Do kraja je Srbin odigrao rutinski i dobio polufinalni meč.
U nedjelju će Đoković u finalu igrati protiv Danila Medvedeva On je savladao Kanađanina Feliksa Ože-Alijasima rezultatom 6:4, 7:5, 6:2.
