“Danas znamo da holesterol iz jajeta ne utiče toliko na ukupan, a posebno ne na LDL holesterol, koliko drugi sastojci hrane, a imajući u vidu pravo nutritivno bogatstvo koje jaje nosi, sada ih bez bojazni možemo jesti gotovo svaki dan”.
Ona ističe i da upravo kuvana jaja, kakva pripremate za Uskrs, jesu najbolji oblik u kom možemo da unesemo ovu namirnicu, a naglašava i na šta je neophodno da obratimo pažnju.
“Jaja pržena na suncokretovom ulju svakako treba ograničiti, ali ne zbog jaja, već zbog trans masti i slobodnih radikala koje dobijamo prženjem na nekvalitetnom rafinisanom ulju. Uskršnja barena jaja su zbog toga i najbolji izbor konzumiranja ove namirnice”, kaže Olajdžija, uz opasku da su jaja zaista super namirnica, jeftina i dostupna svima.
“U moru popularnih namirnica danas, često precenjene egzotične hrane tzv. “super foods”, ja volim da kažem da su zapravo jaja “super foods”. A ona to zaista i jesu, zbog obilja proteina (sadrže sve esencijalne aminokiseline), masnih kiselina (sadrže i omegu 3), imaju sasvim malo ugljenih hidrata (koje ionako unosimo previše kroz svu prerađenu hranu danas) i vredne liposolubilne vitamine. Kada neko posumnja u hranljivu vrijednost jaja, uvijek šaljivo podsjetim da iz njih nastaje život”, zaključuje ova nutricionistkinja.
