Tropska oluja Ofelija pogodila je juče Irsku i usmrtila najmanje 3 osobe, prenose lokalni mediji.
Oko 120.000 kuća ostalo je bez struje, a vlasti su izdale upozorenje da građani ostanu u kućama sve dok “jako opasna” oluja, kako su opisali Ofeliju, ne prođe.
Tokom noći “Ofelija” je oslabila od uragana u kategoriju oluje, a udari vjetra dostižu brzinu od 176 kilometara na sat i čupaju stabla.
“Ti udari vjetra su opasni po život”, upozorio je predsjedavajući irske Nacionalne službe za vanredne situacije Šon Hogan.
Kako su saopštile vlasti Irske, osim škola zatvoreni su i koledži i druge obrazovne institucije.
Odluka je donijeta u dogovoru sa službom za vanredne situacije i konsultacija sa meteorološkom službom koja prognozira dolazak “oluje bez presedana”.
