POPA: EU podržava transformaciju sjevera Crne Gore u zeleniji i prosperitetniji region
Šefica Delegacije Evropske unije u Crnoj Gori ambasadorka Oana Kristina Popa boravila je danas u prvoj zvaničnoj posjeti opštinama Pljevlja i Žabljak, tokom koje je saopštila da će EU nastaviti da podržava sjever Crne Gore u naporima da se transformiše u moderan, zeleniji i prosperitetniji region.
Tokom posjete, ambasadorka Popa se sastala sa rukovodstvom lokalnih samouprava i razgovarala sa korisnicima projekata koje Evropska unija finansira u dvijema opštinama. “Zadovoljstvo je vidjeti da ovaj region dobija podršku od EU u različitim značajnim oblastima. EU trenutno ulaže preko 2,5 miliona eura u 11 projekata prekogranične saradnje u kojima učestvuju korisnici iz ove dvije opštine,” saopštila je ambasadorka.
Navedeni projekti podržavaju lokalne zajednice u širokom spektru oblasti, uključujući zaštitu životne sredine, klimatske promjene, odgovor na prirodne nepogode, turizam, poljoprivredu, zapošljavanje i zdravstvo.
Ambasadorka je u Pljevljima posjetila Osnovnu školu “Salko Aljković”, u kojoj je EU finansirala ugradnju solarnih panela. “Kvalitet vazduha je veoma važno pitanje u Pljevljima i ova škola je veoma dobar primjer kako lokalna zajednica može da pomogne u očuvanju životne sredine, oslanjajući se na čiste izvore energije,” navela je šefica EU Delegacije.
Opštine Pljevlja i Žabljak su takođe oblasti izuzetno bogatog biodiverziteta. Ambasadorka Popa je podsjetila da je EU do sada uložila 2,5 miliona eura u uspostavljanje mreže Natura 2000, u cilju zaštite ekološki najvrjednijih i najugroženijih staništa u Crnoj Gori. “Sada planiramo podršku za još dva projekta povezana sa Natura 2000, ukupne vrijednosti 2 miliona eura, koji će takođe pomoći očuvanju i zaštiti bogatog biljnog i životinjskog svijeta ovog podneblja,” najavila je ambasadorka.
Tokom posjete Žabljaku, ambasadorka Popa se susrela sa predstavnicima Centra za zaštitu i proučavanje ptica (CZIP) i Nacionalnih parkova Crne Gore, korisnicima EU projekta koji pomaže u istraživanju i zaštiti ugroženih vrsta i obezbjeđuje neophodnu opremu za rendžersku službu u Nacionalnom parku Durmitor.
