Primjerak zaštićene vrste medvjeda, koji je izazvao buru nakon što se na društvenim mrežama i YouTubeu pojavio snimak mještana koji ga tuku i maltretiraju, uhvaćen je na Borneu.
Radnici na plantaži palminog ulja su, naime, naletjeli na bezdlako čudo s velikim kandžama pa se u neznanju i strahu okrenuli nasilju i otjerali ‘stvorenje’ štapovima. Na društvenim mrežama video snimak je izazvao veliki broj spekulacija da je riječ o vanzemaljskom obliku života, no naučnici su potvrdili da se radi o ženki takozvanog sunčevog medvjeda, koja je oboljela od rijetke bolesti te je izgubila krzno.
Medvjed je sada na sigurnom – kazao je konzervacionist Nickson Robi iz Sarawak Forestry Corporationa.
– Nahranili smo je i dali joj vode, no još uvijek je bolesna i nema dlake. Moramo saznati od čega boluje – rekao je Robi koji je napomenuo da je, nakon što je pregledao snimak, znao da medvjedicu moraju što prije pronaći i pružiti joj medicinsku pomoć.
nakon nekoliko mejseci potrage, pronašli su je na obližnjoj plantaži, piše Borneo Post.
Medvjedica je, kazao je Robi, bila prestrašena i agresivna, što ne čudi nakon svega kroz što je prošla.
Sada dobija svu potrebnu pomoć.
– Nadamo se da će se brzo oporaviti, kako bi je što prije vratili u divljinu – zaključio je Nickson Robi.
