Pripadnici antiterorističke jedinice policije turske prestonice Ankare uhapsili su u subotu osmoro terorista Islamske države osumnjičenih za planiranje terorističkog napada tokom proslave Nove godine.
Islamisti su uhapšeni na kraju bezbjednosne operacije koja je izvedena na lokacijama na kojima su se ekstremisti Islamske države nalazili i tokom koje su zaplijenjeni mnogobrojni dokumenti u vezi s njom, prenosi “Hurijet dejli njuz”.
Ministar unutrašnjih poslova Turske Sulejman Sojlu izjavio je danas da je u toku potraga za “teroristom” koji je ubio 39 i ranio 69 ljudi u noćnom klubu “Reina” u Istanbulu gdje je bio organizovan doček Nove godine.
– Potraga za teroristom je i dalje u toku. Policija je pokrenula neophodne operacije. Nadama se da će (napadač) uskoro biti uhvaćen -rekao je Sojlu, prenosi AFP.
AP navodi da je Sojlu kazao da je “ovo bio masakr, istinski nehumano divljaštvo”. On je rekao da se vjeruje da je napadač napustio noćni klub “u drugoj odjeći” i da je napad izvršio sam.
Ministar zdravlja Turske Redžep Akdag rekao je da je “četvoro ranjenih u veoma ozbiljnom stanju”.
Ministar unutrašnjih poslova je prethodno izjavio da je među 39 žrtava napada u noćnom klubu “Reina” bilo 15 ili 16 stranaca.
– Samo je 21 tijelo do sada identifikovano – rekao je Sojlu i dodao da je u toku potraga za napadačem, prenosi Rojters.
Sojlu je novinarima kazao da je među ubijenima petoro turskih državljana, kao i da je 69 ranjenih prebačeno u bolnice. Guverner Istanbula Vasip Šahin izjavio je da se radi o aktu terorizma.
Klub “Reina”, gdje je izvršen napad, nalazi se u četvrti Ortakoj, u distriktu Bešiktaš, javile su turske TV stanice i prikazale snimke na kojima se oko kluba vide policijske snage i ambulantna vozila.
U trenutku napada, po različitim procjenama, tu se nalazilo se između 500 i 700 ljudi. Neki su se, kada je otvorena vatra, u panici bacili u vode Bosfora.
Turski mediji se u svojim izvještajima i dalje ne slažu u tome da li je bio jedan ili dvojica napadača. Turska državna agencija Anadolija javila je da je bio jedan napadač.

Privatna turska televizija NTV, međutim, navodi da su bila dvojica napadača, od kojih je bar jedan bio obučen u odjeću Deda Mraza, kao i da su nosili oružje “dugih cijevi”. Privatna agencija Dogan tvrdi, pozivajući se na izjave očevidaca, da su napadači “govorili arapski”.
Na istanbulskim ulicama je u novogošnjoj noći bilo raspoređeno 17.000 policajaca, nakon serije terorističkih napada, koje su izvodili kurdski militanti i sljedbenici Islamske države.
