UMRO ČUVENI BOTA NIKOLIĆ: Zauvijek će ostati “Balkanski špijun”, “Tri karte za Holivud”, “U ime oca i sina”…
Direktor fotografije i reditelj, Božidar Bota Nikolić, preminuo je u 80. godini u Beogradu.
Kao reditelj je radio na kultnim ostvarenjima poput „Balkanskog špijuna“, „Tri karte za Holivud“, „U ime oca i sina“, a zanimljivo je da je Nikolić bio taj koji je dao prvu glavnu ulogu Bredu Pitu u filmu “Tamna strana Sunca”.
Nikolić je rođen u Nikšiću 1942. godine. Kao vrstan direktor fotografije sarađivao je sa rediteljima poput Lordana Zafranovića, Živka Nikolića, Vatroslava Mimice, Milana Jelića, Vlaste Radovanovića i Miše Radivojevića.
Ostaće upamćen i po tome što je Bredu Pitu dao jednu od njegovih prvih glavnih uloga na filmu i to u ostvarenju “Tamna strana Sunca”.
Film je snimljen kao američka koprodukcija sa SFRJ i Kanadom, a pored Pita našli su se Šeril Polak, Gal Bojd, Milena Dravić, Sonja Savić..
Nikolić je svojevremeno rekao da je, iako se na kastingu za ulogu u “Tamnoj strani Sunca” pojavilo 400 glumaca, bez dileme odabrao Pita.
Za svoj snimateljski rad nagrađen je sa dve Zlatne arene u Puli – prvo za film “Beštije” (1978), a onda i za “Život je lep” (1985).
Za film “Beštije” je 1978. dobio na filmskom festivalu u Puli Zlatnu arenu za kameru i 1985. za film “Život je lep”. Sa Dušanom Kovačevićem je podijelio Veliku Zlatnu arenu za režiju filma “Balkanski špijun”.
