Umro slikar Ljuba Popović
Slikar Ljubomir Ljuba Popović (82) preminuo je noćas posle duge i teške bolesti.
Ljuba je krajem jula svoj odmor u Grčkoj morao da prekine zbog teškog zdravstvenog stanja i hitno je prebačen u Beograd. Umjetnik zadnjih godina ljetuje u jednom selu na poluostrvu Atos, gdje se sprema za sve ono što ga čeka do sledećeg ljeta.
Popović je bio jedan od najcjenjenijih savremenih srpskih slikara, kako u domaćim, tako i u medjunarodnim krugovima.
Njegov nadrealizam često nabijen erotskim motivima bio je i tema dokumentarnog filma “Love is eternal Monster” poljsko-francuskog reditelja Valerijana Borovčika.
Rodjen je 1934. godine u Tuzli. Osnovnu školu i gimnaziju je završio u Valjevu, a studirao je na Akademiji primijenjenih umjetnosti i Likovnoj akademiji u Beogradu.
Od 1991. je član SANU van radnog sastava.
Nakon prvog, dvonedeljnog boravka u Parizu, posvećenog najvećim dijelom posjetama Luvru, učestvovao je u nekoliko grupnih izložbi u Beogradu.
Godine 1963. preselio se u Pariz i od tada je radio i stvarao u Francuskoj.
O njegovom djelu pisali su Alen Boske, Alen Žufroa, Andre Pjer de Mandijarg i Patrik Valdberg, a kasnije i mnogi drugi autori, medju kojima Etijambl, Žan-Klarans Lamber, Žil Nere, Gustav Rene Hoke, Žan-Kristof Baji, Žan-Luj Ferije, Izor de Sen Pjer, An Tronš, Saran Aleksandrijan, Mišel Elenberger.
Ljuba Popović je živio u Parizu od 1963. godine, a u Beogradu je boravio krajem prošle godine kada je u Galeriji RTS-a priređena retrospektivna izložba u čast slikarevog 80 rođendana.
Nedavno je u medijima svrstan u najplaćenije srpske slikare.
– Tu ima jedna prilično mutna stvar. Biti na svjetskom tržištu i imati cijenu, to smo prvi put sa ovih prostora, od kralja Aleksandra pa naovamo, postigli Dado Đurić, Vlada Veličković i ja kad smo se našli na takozvanoj međunarodnoj koti. Naravno, mi nismo u vrhu gdje se nalaze Šagal, Miro, Pikaso i drugi.
Mi smo u drugoj ili trećoj ligi. Znači nas trojica imamo cijenu, a to znači da kada ja vama na brzinu napravim neki crtež na papiru, vi za to možete da dobijete 300 evra. Odnosno taj crtež na tržištu vrijedi nešto, to nije velika cifra iako je i to neka vrsta uspjeha. Takođe, moja slika “Mesečarka” nalazi se u najvećoj svjetskoj kolekciji u Njujorku kod Filipakija i ja sam prvi Srbin koji se našao tamo, kao što je Veličković u nekim velikim kolekcijama, i to znači nešto – rekao je slikar.
Mladim umjetnicima danas je teško da se afirmišu, za šta krivi obrazovni sistem.
– Likovna akademija nije više kao što je bila u moje vrijeme, a takav je i Bozar u Parizu pa mladi nemaju gdje da nauče slikarstvo. Sjećam se kada sam otišao u Pariz 1963. godine na Sen Žermenu je bilo 12 galerija, a danas tamo više nema nijedne, od šest knjižara ostale su samo dvije, ali zato imate modne radnje, frizerske salone… Tako da i u Francuskoj propada kultura ako je Srbima za utjehu. I tamo umjetnik mora da radi svašta da bi mogao da opstane – rekao je Ljuba.
